Cambodia Prime Minister Calls for Free Bus Service for Khmer New Year Travel

Phnom Penh: In a move to support Cambodians during one of the most significant holidays of the year, Prime Minister Hun Manet has directed the Phnom Penh Capital Hall to arrange for buses to facilitate free transportation for residents wishing to travel from Phnom Penh to their provincial hometowns for the Khmer New Year celebrations.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the Phnom Penh Capital Hall to alleviate travel costs and prevent fare hikes during major holidays, including Pchum Ben and the Khmer New Year. The decision underscores the government's commitment to ensuring that all Cambodians can celebrate these important cultural festivities with their families, irrespective of their financial situation.

This gesture of goodwill by the Prime Minister is expected to benefit thousands of residents, enabling them to partake in traditional New Year activities and family reunions without the burden of travel expenses. The free bus service is a testament to the government's dedication to fostering community spirit and national unity during Cambodia's cherished holiday periods.
